Central MN Multiple Myeloma Support Group

The Central Minnesota Multiple Myeloma Support Group invites you to take part in our monthly gatherings of people living with myeloma, their caregivers, families and friends.  Our meetings provide a great opportunity to learn about the latest advances in the treatment and management of myeloma while connecting with other members of the myeloma community.   Share what you know and learn from others, we are stronger together!

We will be joined by Willmar chiropractor, Emily Flannigan-Hinderks, for the topic, “Alternative Pain Relief.”/ General Discussion

April 14
Due to the prediction of a blizzard on Saturday, the April 14 meeting has been cancelled.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our members but under the circumstances we prefer to follow the adage, “Safety First”.

June 9
Our speaker will be Brian Ellingboe, a physical therapist in the Twin Cities who will discuss “Myeloma and exercise”. / General Discussion

We will not be holding a July meeting as the International Myeloma Foundation will be holding its Regional Community Workshop on July 21st in Edina.

August 11
Melanie Smerillo, Nurse Educator from Tekeda Oncology, to will give a presentation on the subject of “Side effects of treatments and Myeloma” / General Discussion

September 8
Dr. Linda Burns MD, Vice President and Medical Director & Senior Scientific Director at the Minneapolis based, Be The Match, National Marrow Donor Program, will discuss  “Your Personal Post-BMT Survivorship Plan: What, Why, and How!” / General Discussion

October 13
We will be joined by Celgene Doctor-Educator and hematologist at the Indianapolis Blood and Marrow Transplant Clinic, Dr. Michael Dugan  /General Discussion

November 10
Nancy Ludex,  Nurse-educator with Bristol Myers Squib, will give a presentation on their monoclonal antibody, Empliciti/General Discussion
